 Maintenance:

Maintaining or monitoring the equipment always healthy or better than the basic original conditions of the parts of the equipment.

Types of Maintenance

It can be classified into four types,

1.Breakdown Maintenance

2.Preventive Maintenance

3.Corrective Maintenance

4.Maintenance prevention

Breakdown Maintenance:

The replacement of machine parts is only carried out when the parts have failed and no longer function.

Preventive Maintenance:

It is carried out at regular intervals, determining the time frame and the condition of the parts before the failures or before the actual failure of the machine. It can be classified into two types as periodic maintenance and predictive maintenance.

Periodic Maintenance:

                        

It is also called time based maintenance.For over a period of 15 days or 30 days or 90 days once certain parts of the machine should be replaced before breakdown.

Predictive Maintenance:

                        

It is also called as condition based maintenance.It should be predicted by noise or smell or visually seeing or touching the equipment before breakdown.

Corrective Maintenance:

It is carried out in the existing machines with problems in the design, which are thoroughly investigated and the weak design parts are redesigned for the maintainability of the equipment.it improves the reliability and prevent the parts failure.

Maintenance Prevention:

When developing new machines, the problems that the existing machines regularly face are examined from all aspects such as quality, safety and ease of maintenance, and then the new ideas or improvements are integrated into the new equipment to avoid breakdowns.
